Bengaluru: Section 144 will reportedly be imposed in the city on Saturday, January 18 in view of the BBMP standing committee elections.
Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao issued the prohibitory order in this regard.
Ahead of the polls, BJP corporators and MLAs held a meeting at the party office in Malleshwaram on Friday.
It can be noted that earlier, the Congress and JD(S) corporators had filed a writ petition in the Karnataka High Court, seeking the postponement of the BBMP standing committee elections.
The HC, however, gave the green signal to conduct the polls on Saturday.
