Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has sought Rs.1,664 crores as flood relief from the state government. It has sent a proposal in this regard.
In its letter to the state government, BBMP has informed that due to the heavy rain between Aug 15 and September 3, city infrastructure has crumbled.
“The Corporation has suffered huge loss due to potholes, destruction of houses, loss of human life etc. To repair all these special grants is required,” the letter sent by BBMP commissioner Manjunath Prasad said.
According to the loss estimation done by the BBMP, highest amount has been mentioned for the repair of stormwater drainage. The BBMP has sought Rs. 1,081.76 crores for this. Rs. 273.70 crores has been sought for Bommanahalli zone. Least relief amount of just Rs.3.43 crores has been sought for RR nagar zone.
