Bengaluru: BBMP officers are in a fix over releasing of compensation amount to family members of baby Sanjana who died in the recent Ejipiura cylinder blast incident.
According to the BBMP officers, immediately after the incident, corporation had announced Rs. 5 lakh compensation to the family members of the deceased.
But maternal and paternal grandparents of Sanjana are divided over sharing of the compensation amount.
According to the BBMP officers, Saravana, his wife Ashwini and daughter, three years old Sanjana died in this blast. Parents of Saravana and Ashwini are fighting over who is eligible for the compensation amount of Rs 15 lakh.
“Saravana’s family wants Rs. 10 lakh. But Aswhini’s family also wants five lakh. Now we don’t know to whom we should give the money,” said an officer. “We will seek legal opinion. This is the second such a case we faced recently,” he said.
