Bengaluru: Based on the final report submitted by the BBMP Restructuring Committee headed by former chief secretary of Government of Karnataka, the state government has added two more zones to the BBMP taking the total zones to 10. Till now there were 8 zones.
BS Patill committee had submitted its final report to the state government on July 13,2015.
As per the government notification, based on the committee report, all the BBMP zones have been reorganised to form two new zones. "Technically only two zones are added. But as all wards are totally redistributed five new zones are named. These include Sarvajna Nagar, Malleshwaram, Vijayanagar, Gandhinagar and Jayanagar," explained an officer.
Ten wards include Yelhanka, Dasarahalli, Sarvajna Nagar, Mahadevapura, Bommanahalli, RR Nagar, Jayanagar, Malleshwaram, Gandhinagar and Vijayanagar.
