Bengaluru: With suspicion being raised that there may be all possibilities of invisible hands trying to dent the image of Indira canteens, the BBMP has decided to take no chance on any issue.
On Sunday, BBMP has issued a notification making background verification mandatory for all Indira Gandhi canteen staff.
Besides this, BBMP has also decided to build a compound wall around all the Indira canteens to ensure that no one trespasses. All the staff of Indira canteens, including vehicle drivers are directed to get identification cards. Uniforms also have been made compulsory for all the staff including vehicle drivers.
GPS for vehicles
According to the BBMP sources, to ensure that no foulplay can be done while transporting cooked food, GPS will be installed in all the vehicles. “A dedicated control room will be set up to monitor these transporting vehicles,” said an officer.
