Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a BBMP doctor committed suicide here in the city on Tuesday, October 16.
The deceased has been identified as Dr Aswini (31), a resident of the Sakamma Layout area in Nandini Layout. She committed suicide by hanging, on Tuesday, at around 11.30 PM.
According to the police, Ashwini was married to Lohith, a doctor working at the Bowring Hospital in the city, three years ago, but they were separated for the past one year. “There were some family disputes. We are investigating the matter from all angles,” the Nandini Layout police informed.
They also added that Ashwini had filed for a divorce in a city family court on Monday, October 15.
Meanwhile, Ashwini’s parents have lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that she was being harassed by her husband and his family.
