Bengaluru: In a bid to help officials curtail the plastic menace in the city, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has developed a new app called ‘Plasto Ban’, which will be launched soon.
This app will help officials document raids and create receipts for penalties collected, said a BBMP official. Explaining the importance of the app, the official also said that the app will help keep track of defaulters as it helps in documenting the entire process.
Junior health officers across 198 wards of the city will be receiving the app, which they will be able to use once their credentials have been verified by the BBMP.
This verification is required as the app is available on the Play Store, hence easily accessible by the general public, explained another official.
