Bengaluru: Soon after the elections, banners, buntings, cutouts with birthday wishes for political leaders and wishes for the newly-elected public representatives were once more visible across the city thus affecting its beauty.
“In the background of state Assembly elections and implementation of Election Code of Conduct, the capital city was clean without any banners, boards or cutouts. But, soon after the elections, these banners are once again put up across the city,” a resident said.
Several such banners, flex, and buntings were spread around the Vidhana Soudha to wish H D Kumaraswamy and Dr.G Parameshwara ahead of oath-taking ceremony.
In fact, prior to the oath-taking ceremony, H D Kumaraswamy requested his fan followers and the party workers not to use banners, buntings, cutouts and avoid bursting of the crackers as a part of the celebrations. In spite of this DS workers put hundreds of banners in the city. People were furious about it.
“Not only these advertisement banners cause environmental pollution but also generates a huge amount of waste. To keep the city clean the banners should be banned,” said Dasarahalli resident Manoj Rai.
