Bengaluru: Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka K S Eshwarappa has said that the state government would definitely impose a ban on cow slaughter, here on Sunday, September 15.
Partaking in one of the private programme, he said, “The state government will definitely ban cow slaughtering. It was brought in by the BJP during its last tenure. As the Congress government came to power in the state, they had abolished this rule. Yet again we have come to power and we will implement it once again.”
Stressing on the importance of cow in the Hindu religion, he said, “Cow, is the symbol of Hindutva and in this sense we will implement a law against cow slaughtering in order to protect them.”
