Bengaluru: In a big embarrassment to the ruling coalition government, on Saturday evening backward class welfare minister Puttaranga Shetty appeared before the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) over the alleged kickback case.
He underwent ACB investigation in connection with the seizure of Rs.25.76 lakhs from his office typist from Vidhana Soudha on January 4. Vidhana Soudha police arrested Mohan, Shetty, his office typist with the cash.
According to the sources, the ACB police investigated Shetty for over three hours. A team of three officers led the inquiry.
If sources in the ACB are to be believed, Shetty gave negative answers to most of the questions. “So it was decided to summon the contractors who allegedly sent money to Mohan for the second round of the inquiry,” sources said.
