Anti superstition bill in place during winter session?

Bengaluru: The state government has assured rationalists that it will introduce anti superstition bill in the forthcoming winter session of the state legislature.

State law minister T B Jayachandra who met the progressive thinkers and pontiffs who were holding a dharna on Wednesday evening informed that state government will not delay the implementation of this bill. Following the assurance, dharna was withdrawn.

Farmers leader, MLA Puttannaiah, CPM state general secretary Shrirama Reddy and others were participated in the dharna.

Speaking to the reporters, Mr. T B Jayachandra informed that he had discussed the issue with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and he wanted early implementation of the bill.

Speaking on the occasion, Channamalla Swamiji of Nidumamiddi mutt alleged that even though draft bill is ready since two years state government is not showing the will to implement it. “When it comes to Kambala, every party leader joins hand together and brings ordinances. Why not ordinance route for this bill,” he questioned.
