Ananth Kumar’s final rites to be held on Tuesday

Bengaluru: The final rites of union minister Ananth Kumar, who breathed his last on the early hours of Monday will be held on Tuesday.

His family has communicated the same to the BJP state and central leadership and the state government.

According to the sources, Ananth Kumar’s family members, who are residing in the USA and other countries need to come for the final rites. “They need at least 24 hours to reach Bengaluru. So, it has been decided to postpone the final rites to Tuesday,” said sources.

A senior BJP leader informed that as per the original plan, the final rites was planned on Monday evening and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other VVIPs too were scheduled to attend. “But now as per the request made by the family, it has been decided to postpone the same to Tuesday. But a final decision on the visit of the VVIPs will be taken by the protocol division,” he explained.

“The body will be taken to the party office in the city in the noon and later it will be kept for the public homage in Basavanagudi National College grounds,” he added.
