Bengaluru: Home Minister and BJP National Chief Amit Shah will be in Bengaluru on January 18 and the pending cabinet expansion of the BSY cabinet will be completed.
Shah will reach Kempegowda International Airport on Saturday afternoon and take part in a public event in the city.
Later, in the evening, he will hold a talk with CM BS Yediyurappa and some senior leaders of the party on cabinet expansion and the Citizenship Amendment Act. He will then attend a CAA awareness programme in Hubballi.
With Shah’s visit nearing, leaders from the party are seen visiting CM BSY’s residence, trying to make all efforts to ensure a cabinet berth for themselves.
Leaders like Umesh Katti, Gopalaiah and many others paid a visit to the CM’s residence on Thursday. MTB Nagaraj, who faced a shameful defeat in the recently held by-polls from Bengaluru (Rural) too thronged the CM’s residence. It is said that MTB has urged the CM to make him a minister somehow. Many leaders are expected to visit the CM.
Sources say that the CM is obligated to give cabinet berth to the rebel leaders who broke ties with their parties and joined the BJP.
One may have to wait and watch how the top leadership will handle this situation and suppress rebellion within the party as they pacify the new entrants.
