Bengaluru/Mandya: With the refusal of actor-turned-politician Ambareesh to contest from Mandya despite Congress choosing him and the failed attempts to convince him, several aspirants are making a beeline for Mysuru with hopes of getting the ‘B’ form for Mandya.
It may be recalled that Ambareesh refused to collect the ‘B’ form even though the Congress had declared his candidacy. Besides, the efforts of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to persuade the “Rebel Star” to change his mind also failed. So, there was confusion among the Congress workers and Ambareesh fans about his final decision.
Now, according to reports, Ambareesh has made it clear that he would not contest from Mandya. Reportedly, he called up KPCC President Dr. Parameshwara and requested him to give the ticket to Amaravathi Chandrashekhar.
As soon as this news spread, several Congress ticket aspirants from Mandya rushed to Mysuru. According to sources, former minister Athmananda, Siddharuda Sathish, Amaravati Chandrashekhar and Chidambar are in the ticket race. However, it is gathered that many within the party are opposed to the idea of giving the ticket to Ambareesh’s close associate Amaravati Chandrashekhar.
