Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundurao left for New Delhi on Wednesday morning following an urgent summons from All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi.
According to the KPCC sources, on Tuesday night RaGa called Dinesh and held discussion about the Lok Sabha election 2019 preparations. Later he advised him to meet him at New Delhi on Wednesday.
Dinesh's visit gained importance following tough stand taken by the coalition partner JDS on the number of seats it wants to contest in the upcoming election in the state. JDS is pressurisng the Congress to leave 12 to 13 seats including Bengaluru Rural which is presently represented by DK Suresh, brother of major irrigation minister DK Shivakumar.
