Bengaluru: The state government has declined permission to an AHIMSA’s (Alpasankhyata, Hindulida and Samanya) rally that was scheduled on October 31 in the palace grounds of the city in protest against the delay in the implementation of the Supreme Court ruling on a reservation for the promotion of SC/ST employees.

The acronym AHIMSA represents the minority, backward and general category government employees. This proposed rally had sparked widespread confusion as it was dubbed as 82 Vs 18.

The AHIMSA group has been formed to demand immediate implementation of the Supreme Court judgment on canceling the reservation in the promotions given to the employees from SC and ST communities. According to sources, the state intelligence department has requested the state government to cancel the permission as it may take a political turn and caste colour.
