After Soolibele-DVS spat, #NotFairModi trends on twitter

Bengaluru: Following a war of words between Yuva Brigade founder Chakravarthy Soolibele and Union Minister DV Sadananada Gowda over the release of flood relief funds to North Karnataka, the hashtag #NotFairModiji has started trending on twitter.

Soolibele, a staunch supporter of the Prime Minister, had first taken a jibe at Modi for a delay in relief funds to the flood-battered North Karnataka region. In a retort, Gowda had said that he pities people who give out false information to people with regard to the status of flood-relief compensation.

Soon, Soolibele shot back with a tweet that read: “Finally, this man has spoken, Mr Sadananda Gowda, don’t forget that the ministerial berth that you have is an alm given to you by the people of the state. What is the use of the relief, which doesn’t come on time?” After this episode, a twitter hashtag titled #NotFairModi has been making the rounds. People have been questioning why the Prime Minister does not have time for people of Karnataka.

However, in the midst of all this, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has said that the centre has not announced relief to any of the flood-hit states in the country yet and hence, the argument that this was ‘step-motherly’ treatment towards Karnataka was not valid.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi was outside the country, now he has come back. In another two to three days, all the affected states will get funds,” he said.
