Bengaluru: An advocate from Mandya by name HL Vishala Raghu has moved the high court seeking a National Investigating Agency (NIA) investigation into the Amulya Leone pro Pakistan slogan incident.

Amulya Leone, a 19-year-old student has been charged with a sedition case for raising the Pakistan Zindabad slogan on February 20 at an anti-CAA-NRC rally at freedom park. The event was part of the then-ongoing nationwide agitation against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

He has also sought directions to the state government to initiate action against officials responsible for non-filing of charge sheet against Amulya within 90 days. As the Upparpet police failed to file charge-sheet within 90 days, Amulya has now got bail.
Meanwhile, the state government has appointed IS Pramod Chandra as the special public prosecutor in this case.
