Bengaluru: Actor Prakash Raj, who is planning to contest from the Bengaluru Central constituency met former CM Siddaramaiah and KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao, on Wednesday evening and sought the Congress support for his candidature. It is said that the leaders have declined to extend the party’s support citing various challenges.
It is said that Siddaramaiah has told Raj that the Congress is planning to field a candidate from the minority community from Bengaluru Central. “If we did not field the minority candidate it will send a wrong signal. So it is not possible to give you support,” Siddu reportedly told Raj. It is also said that Raj was asked by Siddaramaiah to first join the Congress party, which the former reportedly refused.
Later, Raj met Dinesh Gundurao, who again is believed to have told Raj to first come into the party folds so that they can take a decision of issuing a ticket to him from any constituency.
