Bengaluru: “I will not be involving myself completely in the film industry or acting. I will dedicate myself to the service of the public and act in one or two movies if there are opportunities”, said independent candidate from Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency, actor Prakash Raj here on Thursday, April 11.
Speaking to media at the Bengaluru Press Club in an interaction programme, he said, “It is not possible for me to act with the same mannerism and spirit as before. I have grown old now and will not be able to give justice to the youthful roles.”
“I am confident that I will win the Lok Sabha elections. If I win, I will work for the people. if not I will continue to remain in public domain”, he added.
Commenting on religion politics, Prakash said, “I am not an offender of any religion and I have never involved myself in religion politics. I have never spoken ill about Hindu religion. I condemn Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his conduct and have nothing against him personally. I do not like his principles and ideologies and that is the reason I don’t like him.”
On the comments of him contesting the Lok Sabha elections helping BJP to fair better, he said, “I will not accept that. I am not contesting the elections for creating an alternative political platform. I am backed by different organisations and over 5000 people are working with me.”
He opined that Mandya Lok Sabha independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh was a better choice compared to Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
President of Bengaluru Press Club Sadashiv Shenoy, General Secretary Kiran, Journalists' Association General Secretary Chandrashekhar and others were present.
