Bengaluru: Wildlife activists have raised concern over illegal laying of roads at Kuveshi of Cassel Rock Wildlife Range of Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, which comes under the administrative range of Kali Tiger Reserve.

With this, the activists have demanded transfer of Kali Tiger Reserve Director Palaiah.

“Though we gave series of complaints against the illegal development works, the senior officials of the tiger reservoir didn’t respond. Especially, the director of Kali Tiger Reserve completely failed to take action against rules breakers,” they complained.

The permission of Central Environment, Forest, and climate change officials is a must to carry out any activity which is not related to the forest, in Kali Tiger Reserve area, National Park or Wildlife Sanctuary. Still, here the contractors didn’t follow any forest or wildlife protection Acts while taking up the development works, they alleged.
