Bengaluru: RTI activist Bhimappa Gadad from Belagavi has petitioned to the State Chief Secretary seeking action against Minister Ramesh Jarakiholi for staying away from the state cabinet meeting since last week of July.
In his complaint, Gadad has alleged that by boycotting the cabinet meeting he is violating the rights of the voters and action must be initiated against him as per the rule.
In his letter dated October 8, Gadad informed the Chief Secretary that Jarakiholi was not attending the cabinet meeting since July and his departmental works were pending due to this.
But Ramesh Jarakiholi says that he has not received any letter or notice from the DPAR in this regard.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) clarified that the letter has been received at the Chief Secretary’s office. “That does not amount to any action. Like any other letter, this letter is also received,” said CMO officers.
Ramesh Jarakiholi is staying away from the cabinet meeting since July demanding better a portfolio and inclusion of another Scheduled Tribe MLA in the state cabinet.
