Bengaluru: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on offices and residences of 11 Karnataka Government officials on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to their known source of income.
The ACB police conducted raids simultaneously in six districts against the officials of various departments including Irrigation, Forest, Agriculture and Public Works Department.
During the raid incriminating documents for possessing movable and non-movable assets were recovered, ACB IGP K P Sharat Chandra told newsmen here on Wednesday.
The officials against whom raids were conducted included Factory and Boiler Joint Director Vasanna, Planning Department Joint Director M C Shashikumar, BBMP, Assistant Engineer, Basavanagudi, J.V. Tyagaraj, Vijayanagara Development Authority Commissioner Shekshavalli and others.
At Shivamogga the ACB officials have seized documents pertaining to properties of Irrigation Department Chief Engineer Mallappa during raid on his office and residence.
In the first incident, ACB police raided the Thokur (Bantwal) house, office and Kinnigoli (Mangaluru) all belonging to agriculture department Assistant Director P F Miranda. Investigations are on.
In a separate incident, a Minor Irrigation Department Assistant Executive Engineer Hemanth’s house, farmhouse and office were raided by the ACB team.
Hemanth’s office in Chikkaballapur, farmhouse in T. Peddanahalli and his Bengaluru house were raided by the ACB team of 11 officers on Wednesday morning.
