Bengaluru: The police and the BBMP have decided to not take any chance while implementing the election model code of conduct. According to the BBMP authorities as many as 8,000 CCTVs will monitor the city’s specific developments.

BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said that the BBMP has installed 4,000 CCTVs across the 198 wards while police are managing 1,000 CCTVs. “To ensure strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct another 3,000 CCTVs will be installed soon,” he stated.

Prasad informed that the authorities are visiting each and every ward to confirm that all the CCTVs are in working condition. “The footages are verified and monitored at each zone through a dedicated control room. Our idea is that code of conduct will be followed strictly,” he stated.
