Bengaluru: The 6th pay commission has recommended that the state government declare the fourth Saturday as a holiday along with the second Saturday for the government employees.

The commission formed under the leadership of former IAS officer M R Srinivas Murthy for the recommendations regarding the pay revision and administrative reforms, submitted its final report to the government on Monday, April 30. The report has mentioned about the fourth Saturday holiday, sources said.

The members of the commission have submitted this 500-page report to the Chief Secretary K. Rathnaprabha. The government has implemented the first report already. After the payment revision, to pay the fitment (amount to maintain the balance) to the employees, it was a loss for the senior employees. The report suggested that the government that increment of three years for these employees may be added to the basic payment. It is left to the sense of the government, it said.

Few other important recommendations include providing health insurance to all employees under ‘Jyoti Sanjeevini Project’ without any barriers. To get maximum PF, the service period should be decreased from 33 years to 30 years. ‘C’ and ‘D’ grade employees should get mandatory training at least once in a year.
