Bengaluru: With the increase in the number of people getting tested for the COVID, the number of infected going missing also is increasing.

The city is witnessing around 2000 new active cases a day and quarantining their contacts itself is a big task. People who come for such tests provide the wrong addresses and invalid phone numbers giving an additional headache to the already struggling officials. Around 4500 people have used this method to avoid institutional quarantine it is learnt.

The BBMP has now swung into action to fix this issue with the help of the police department, with one DCP in charge of one Zone leading a team. The numbers given by these people will be given to these teams who will look for the missing infected said BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad.
