40 persons arrested in the city for hoarding Covid 19 medicines

Bengaluru: In this week, the city police arrested as many as 40 persons in connection with hoarding the Covid 19 essential medicines including Remdesivir. These medicines are in huge demand across the state after the Covid 19 surge.

80 Remdesivir injections were seized by the CCB police at the time of these arrests. Arrested includes an ayurvedic doctor, paramedical staff, pharma shop employees and so on.

The CCB police also seized Remdesivir injection which was manufactured in Bangladesh. An investigation has been launched to find out who brought Bangladesh made injection to the city.

Remdesivir is sold for Rs 10,000 per dose in the black market against its original rate of Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,500.
