3,649 new COVID cases push state’s tally past 71K, 61 deaths take toll to 1,464

Bengaluru: The state reported 3,649 new COVID-19 cases and 61 deaths on Tuesday, July 21. This brings the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 71,069 and death toll to 1,464.

Bengaluru Urban alone reported 1,714 cases and Ballari reported 193 new infections. Dakshina Kannada reported 149 new cases.

While 1,664 people were discharged after making a full recovery from the disease today, 583 people are being treated in ICUs across the state.

The breakup of the fresh cases are: Mysuru (135), Yadagir (117), Uttara Kannada (109), Hassan (107), Kolar (103), Kalaburagi (99), Davanagere (95), Bengaluru Rural (95), Udupi (84), Dharwad (84), Chikkaballapura (81), Chikkamagaluru (68), Bidar (66), Bagalakote (65), Tumakuru (47), Koppala (45), Haveri (39), Chamarajanagara (34), Belagavi (23), Chitradurga (23), Shivamogga (20), Gadag (15), Vijayapura (13), Mandya (13), Ramanagara (8), Raichur (4), and Kodagu (1).

There are 44,140 active COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, a total of 25,459 have been discharged. Additionally, six people have died of non-COVID causes.
