361 UK returnees still not traceable in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: As many as 361 passengers who returned from United Kingdom are yet to be traced in the city. This has become a new challenge to the state health department authorities.

According to the officials, on December 21, the state government directed all the passengers returning from the UK to undergo mandatory RTPCR Covid-19 testing after the reports of new variant of Corona virus being found in the country started making rounds.

However, till now 1,766 such returnees have undergone the test while 361 passengers are not traceable.

According to the authorities, even though the state government is appealing the public to come for testing voluntarily, many are still not ready to get tested.

This is posing greater challenge to the state government and the society.
