Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has issued notices to 356 apartments under Bellanduru lake zone over non installation of Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs).
According to the KSPCB officials, this notice has been issued as per the directions of the Green Tribunal, New Delhi. All the 356 apartments are given December 31 as the last date for installation of STPs, as per the notice. Those apartments which fail to instal STPs will be cut off from all the basic amenities.
“Notice has been issued to all the apartments after physically verifying the apartments and preparing a status report which was submitted to the green tribunal. As per the tribunal order December 31 is the last date for installation of STPs,” said a senior officer.
Meanwhile, KSPCB directed all the vehicle service centres to shut down their operations till they introduce latest cleaning equipment.
