2,496 cases take K’taka COVID tally to 44,077; 87 deaths take toll to 842

Bengaluru: The state reported 2,496 new COVID-19 cases and 87 deaths on Monday, July 13. This brings the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 44,077 and death toll to 842.

Bengaluru Urban reported 1,267 cases and Mysuru reported 125 new cases.

Meanwhile, 1,142 people were discharged after making a full recovery from the disease. However, 540 people are being treated in ICUs across the state.

The breakup of the fresh cases are: Kalaburagi (121), Dharwad (100), Ballari (99), Koppal (98), Dakshina Kannada (91), Bagalkot (78), Udupi (73), Uttara Kannada (64), Belagavi (64), Vijayapura (52), Tumakuru (47), Bidar (42), Mandya (38), Raichur (25), Davanagere (17), Bengaluru Rural (14), Chikkaballapura (13), Kolar (11), Shivamogga (10), Kodagu (10), Chitradurga (10), Gadag (9), Chamarajanagar (8), Hassan (4), Chikkamagaluru (3), Yadagir (2), and Ramanagar (1).

There are 25,839 active COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, a total of 17,390 have been discharged. Additionally, four people have died of non-COVID causes.

Meanwhile, several districts will be going into complete lockdown to control the spread of the disease.
