Bengaluru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy announced that 1,000 government schools across the state will be converted into English medium schools from the academic year 2019-20.
Answering a question by Mudabidire MLA Umanatha Kotiyan, CM HDK informed that as part of the proposal 1,715 school teachers will be appointed and additional 1,000 teachers will be appointed soon.
“Our idea is to provide best quality English medium education in government schools,” he said.
“It will be a solution to the dwindling number of student enrollment in the government schools,” he said.
The existence of the government schools have become a great headache to the government as the number of students enrolling at the government schools have been dwindling.
