Bagalkot: The drama surrounding former minister H Y Meti sex CD episode took a new twist on Sunday when the woman, Vijayalakshmi who was seen in the CD tried to end her life by consuming sleeping pills. She was immediately rushed to the district hospital and is said to be out of danger now.
Meti had been forced to resign from the ministry after a video showing him in a compromising position with the woman was aired on a TV channel in December 2016. Vijayalakshmi had then alleged that Meti had sought sexual favours from her but later backtracked to claim him as a father-figure. The CID probing the scandal had given a clean chit to Meti three months back.
Vijayalakshmi has now stated that few supporters of Meti had made threat calls to her a fortnight ago and she tried to commit suicide out of frustration. She however did not disclose any names. The doctors have stated that she will be discharged on two-three days.
Manwhile the the police who are investigating the abduction bid on BJP leader Eshwarappa’s PA Vinay has come across some intersting details. It is learnt that Santhosh, the personal assistant of BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa who is being investigated in the case was in constant touch with Rajashekhara Mulali, the RTI activist who broke the sex CD scam.
Notably this attempted suicide and also the fact that Subhash, the gun man of Meti remains untraceable since the scandal broke out makes this case more curious.
