Bagalkot: Due to heavy and continuous downpour on Saturday night in Kiresur village, the ceiling of a house collapsed, resulting in three deaths from the same family
The deceased are identified as Eerappa Hadapada (60), his wife Gauravva (55) and their son Ningappa (38).
Ningappa’s wife Savitha (26) and their child Tanu (6), who were in another room have escaped the jaws of death.
According to the reports, Ningappa is said to have got up from the sleep and gone to the room where his mother and father were sleeping to clear the water accumulated in the buckets from leaking roof in his parents’ room. At this juncture of time, the wall of his neighbour’s house collapsed killing him and his parents. The ceiling of the house fell over the trio smothering them to death.
The fire fighters who rushed to the spot recovered the bodies with the help of nearby residents.
