Bagalkot: Lokapura is a tiny village in the Mudhol taluk of the Bagalkot district. The Lokeshwara temple in the village witnessed a rare marriage on Sunday. Two pairs of newlywed couples celebrated world environment day by giving saplings of various varieties to their guests.
Vikram Gol and Puja and Holabasayya Gol and Dakshayni entered wedlock on Sunday. Vikram and Holabasayya are siblings. Around 300 guests had participated in the marriage. The brothers sought blessings of the guests by giving a sapling. All the guests were given different varieties of saplings.
Siblings informed that they distributed saplings to create awareness about the ecology among all the guests. “We decided to convert our marriage into a green marriage to spread a message to society,” they informed.
