Bagalkot: The district and sessions court on Wednesday directed Navanagar police to file objections, if any, to the bail plea of DAR constable and three BJP leaders in the former minister H Y Meti sex CD case.
The accused DAR constable Subhash Mugalakhod and BJP leaders Ashok Lagaloti, Siddalinga Abalakatti and Maruti Mirajkar had filed an application for anticipatory bail at the district and sessions court here.
Police sources said the CID will file the objections as the case has been handed over to it.
An FIR was filed after the woman in the video registered a case against the four, that they had forced her to give a statement against the former minister and recorded it. CID officials, on Wednesday, continued their investigation into the episode. A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police C R Ravishankar examined the account of Mugalakhod at a nationalised bank at Navanagar in the city and gathered relevant documents. The officials also met former minister Meti and collected information.
