Jamakhandi: Today, i.e., November 6, was a day of major upset for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) alliance won four out of the five constituencies that went to the polls on November 3.

In Jamakhandi, Congress candidate Anand Nyamegouda, son of Late Siddu Nyamegouda, registered a clear victory by garnering 96968 votes, giving him a margin of 39480 votes over BJP’s candidate Shrikanth Kulkarni, who gained 57492 votes.

After his victory was announced, Nyamegouda told reporters that he intended to fulfil his late father’s dreams and ensure all-round development of his constituency.
