Bagalkot: Reacting to former minister H Y Meti’s sex scandal, BJP workers on Wednesday took out a protest rally through the main streets and conducted a mock funeral of the former minister.
Addressing them on the Hole Anjaneya temple premises, former MLA Veeranna Charantimath said this incident is an insult to people of the district and people should teach a lesson to the Congress in the coming elections. The agitators also burnt an effigy of Meti to express their anguish over the sex scandal which was being highlighted in the media all day long on Wednesday.
“Such leaders are not wanted by people, they should quit active politics and the government should take necessary action against them,” the agitators said.
