Bagalkot: Nearly 60 students took ill after consuming the mid-day meals served to them at the government higher primary school at Benakatti in the taluk on Tuesday afternoon.
As per reports, these 60 students out of the 277 students at the school were served food in the first batch and started vomiting after consuming the food while few others complained of diarrhoea. The students were immediately rushed to the district hospital for treatment and are said to be out of danger.
One of the students from class IV?said a classmate of hers found a lizard in the sambar after rice and sambar were served to them. Soon the students started vomiting.
