After debuting at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, Yamaha has officially launched its first-ever hybrid motorcycle, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid, in India. Priced at ₹1,44,800 (ex-showroom), the bike blends sleek design upgrades with advanced technology.

Design & Features

Retaining its muscular stance, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid gets subtle styling enhancements. The fuel tank cover now features sharper edges, and the front turn indicators are integrated into the air intake area for a cleaner look. A major highlight is the 4.2-inch colour TFT display, offering smart connectivity with call notifications, music playback control, and newly repositioned switchgear for better accessibility. The handlebar and horn switch have also been adjusted for improved comfort. Additionally, the fuel tank now features an airplane-style fuel cap.

The FZ-S Fi Hybrid comes in two colours: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.

Engine & Hybrid Tech

Under the hood, the bike retains its 149cc, single-cylinder engine, producing 12.4 hp and 13.3 Nm of torque. While Yamaha hasn’t confirmed a power boost, the real game-changer is the introduction of the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG)—a first for Yamaha motorcycles in India.

Previously seen in Yamaha’s RayZR and Fascino hybrid scooters, the ISG system works with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) to provide a mild torque boost, making acceleration smoother—especially useful for stop-and-go traffic and overtaking.

Other fuel-saving features include start/stop technology and a silent start system, enhancing fuel efficiency.
