Kolar: A man was on Friday arrested for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter for the past 5 months and impregnating her.
The suspect arrested has been identified as Chandru, a daily wage worker.
Police sources said that the accused had divorced his wife and was living with another woman. The latter’s daughter was taken care by them. The girl was repeatedly raped during the woman’s absence.
The woman had come to know about girl’s pregnancy but didnot reveal as Chandru had threatened not to do so.
The incident came to light after an Anganawadi worker noticed visible changes in the girl’s body and immediately informed child protection unit.
The police have arrested the suspect under Pocso Act.
