Kolar: Janata Dal (S) MLA Srinivasa Gowda has acknowledged the suspicion that the reason for veteran Congress leader K H Muniyappa’s defeat in the Lok Sabha election from Kolar Lok Sabha constituency was the Congress-JDS state coalition.
Speaking to media here on Monday, May 27, he said, “Both the Congress and the JDS had come together in the district with a common intention of defeating Muniyappa.”
“None of the coalition leaders has decided to resign. All the leaders will continue in their respective parties and H D Kumaraswamy will continue as the CM of the state for the next five years and will complete his tenure”, he added.
According to the ground reports too, it is suspected that the reason for the victory of Kolar Lok Sabha Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Muniswamy was Congress-JDS.
It may be recalled that MLA Srinivas Gowda, Congress leaders Kothur Manjunath, H Ganesh and several others were unhappy with the decision of fielding K H Muniyappa from Congress. They had also rejected CM HDK’s direction to support Muniyappa all through his campaigns.
