Kolar: Inchara Govindaraju, a businessman from the Kolar district, will be the JD(S) party’s candidate for the upcoming MLC elections.
Even though party heavy weights like YSV Dutta, Sharavana, Kupendra Reddy, Kona Reddy etc. were ticket aspirants, JD(S) supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and former chief minister of Karnataka H D Kumaraswamy chose to go with Govindaraju as their candidate.
The party leaders have said that Govindaraju was fielded to strengthen the party in the Kolar and Chikkaballapura districts as he hails from this region.
H D Deve Gowda handed him the party ticket, however, no other JD(S) leader was present on the occasion.
