Srinivasapura (Kolar): A Class 8 girl whose ambition is to become a doctor, precariously started acting like one and went injecting as many as 12 kids with distilled water mixed with veterinary drug.

The incident took place at Nakkalagadda village on the Andhra Pradesh border. The girl hails from Dugamarampalli, a neighbouring village.

As per police, the girl bunked her classes, reached home and started acting like a doctor.

Out of her 12 ‘patients’, two were mere 6-month-old toddlers.

Fortunately, a health worker in the area who sensed that the girl was doing something abnormal, alerted her parents.

The injected kids were rushed to Jalappa Hospital in Kolar and were kept under observation for 36 hours before being discharged on Wednesday.

On learning about the incident, Kolar deputy commissioner Trilok Chandra directed a few doctors from SNR Hospital, Kolar, to rush to Jalappa Hospital.

Vasanth, a sub-inspector attached to Gownipalli police station, said parents of the affected kids have lodged a police complaint and that a case has been registered.
Police are investigating from where she got the syringe.
