Kasargod: A lady was found dead in a house in Vidyanagar, outskirts of the city, here on Thursday, December 20.

It is suspected to be a case of murder.

The deceased is identified as Sarasu (30) from Hubballi.

A person named Chandra (25), who is a labourer employed in laying interlocks was staying with Sarasu under the same roof.

Chandru has now gone missing.

It is said that Chandru had informed the owner of the house that he would be leaving for his hometown for two days and handed over the key to the owner.

As he did not return even after two days, the owner had called him but Chandra’s mobile phone was switched off.

Today, i.e, on December 20 morning, the owner of the house had entered Chandra’s room where he shockingly found Sarasu dead.

The owner immediately contacted the Vidyanagar and Kasargod police who rushed to the spot.

After an inquest, the police shifted the body to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for postmortem.

Forensic experts, dog squad and fingerprint experts visited the spot and gathered evidence.

The police have begun a hunt for Chandru.
