Missing school teacher found dead near Shiriya Bridge

Kasargod: A teacher who went missing two days ago, was found dead near a stream near the Shiriya Bridge in Kumble on Saturday, January 18 morning.

The deceased is identified as Roopa, a resident of Miyapadavu and a teacher at Sri Vani Vijaya Higher Secondary School, Manjeshwar.

It can be noted that on January 16, Roopa had gone missing under mysterious circumstances. As she did not return home that day, her family suspected that she was murdered and filed a complaint with the Manjeshwara Police.

When the Kumble Police began search operations today morning, they found her body near the Shiriya Bridge. The family members, who rushed to the spot, identified the body to be that of Roopa.

The body was moved to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for a postmortem.

Meanwhile, the police have extracted the necessary information from Roopa’s husband and have begun their investigation. The cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report arrives.
