Kasargod: A national-level Tulu Symposium will be organised by the Kerala Tulu Academy at the Nellikunje Fine Arts Center on December 17 and 18.
“The event is being held in the name of Tulu Academy researcher Dr D Venkataraja Punichittaya,” said Kerala Tulu Academy Chief Umesh Rao Salian at a press conference held on Friday, December 13.
The symposium will be inaugurated by Kerala Power Minister M M Mani on December 17 at 10 am. MP Mohan Unithan will be the chief guest of the event and MLA N A Nelikunu will preside over the programme.
Afterwards, District Collector Dr Sajith Babu will release the Academy’s tri-monthly magazine ‘Thembre’ and Janapada Vishwavidyalaya Vice-Chancellor Chinnappa Gowda will deliver a talk.
Additionally, scholars such as M V Balakrishna Master, A Subbiah Rai, Father Santhosh Lobo, S V Bhatt and Rajashree T Rai will be felicitated. Scholars Narayana Delampadi, Dr. Kishore Kumar Rai Sheni and Dr. Rajesh Bejjangala will present lectures on various issues at the symposium.
Kerala Tulu Academy Secretary Vijayakumar Pavala, members Radhakrishna and Sachita Rai were present.
