Kasargod: Two persons have been nabbed on Monday in connection to the killings of two Youth Congress members in Kasargod on Saturday.
The police department has already formed a team led by Crime Branch DySP. It has three DSPs and three Circle Inspectors in it. The team is looking at the possibilities of political involvement. Murdered youth named Kripesh had lodged a complaint in February and accordingly cases have been booked against three persons, whose details have not been revealed. Meanwhile, KPCC President Mullapalli Ramachandran, who met the grieving family members of slain youth-Kripesh and Sharath Lal ended up shedding tears over the loss.
As per the sources, the Inquest Report has termed the murders as 'demonic'. The preliminary probe has settled on the possibilities of the murders being politically motivated. The rift with the local CPM workers may have led to the murder, opine many.
The report states that one injury on Kripesh's head was 13 cms deep while more than 14 cuts were found on his legs. Sharath had a 23 cms long cut on his neck. They were attacked using machetes, states the report. The FIR states that this was a well-planned and pre meditated murder.
Two Youth Congress workers name Kripesh and Sharath Lal were murdered on February 17 at Periya in Kasargod. The United Democratic Front (UDF) had called for a hartal in the district on Monday, February 18.
