Kasargod: In an unfortunate incident, a one-year-old child dies after beetle enters respiratory tract and obstructs breathing.

The infant is identified as Anved, son of Satyendra and Ranjini couple from Chennikere, Nullippady here.  The boy was admitted to a local hospital when he fainted at home on Saturday night, however died at the hospital. Later the body was taken to Kasargod General Hospital.

The examination in the hospital could not ascertain the cause of death. However, the postmortem report revealed that beetle had entered the respiratory tract of the boy and it is believed that this must have obstructed boy’s breathing leading to his death. It is now suspected that while playing at home the boy must have put beetle into his mouth accidentally.

Kasaragod police have conducted an inquest.
