‘Anna-Thamma’ Kambala track all set to entertain folk sport lovers

Kasargod: A sport which is observed as ‘holy’, Kambala is ready to entertain and thrill the people of the coastal town.

A twin-track named ‘Anna-Thamma’ (elder and younger brother) is all set to host this ancient and traditional sports at Bolangala near Paivalike.

The Anna-Thamma Jodukare Kambala Samithi in collaboration with Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project will be organising Kambala and Rural Mela on December 13 to 16.

On December 13, a procession will be held from Paivalike to Bolangala after which folk sports and rural fair will be held.

On December 14 morning, the Pragathi Bandhu Co-operative oath-taking ceremony and inauguration of Jnana Jyothi Navajeevan Samithi will be held. In the noon, Adarsha Dampati (perfect couple) programme will be organised along with the women’s kabaddi tournament.

On December 15, 10 AM onwards, the Anna-Thamma Jodukere Kambala will be held.

The track is all set for the day and night Kambala, to which a pooja was offered according to the rituals.

This is the first ever Kambala track in the border city of Karnataka-Kerala.

The track will have many more rural sports events and also folk art exhibition in the coming days.
